Christopher Pien

Christopher Pien Graduated from Washington State University Vancouver in Spring 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Technology and Culture from Creative Media & Digital Culture Program as well as a Game Studies and Design Certificate from Creative Media & Digital Culture Program.

He is a 3D artist specializing in Hard Surface modeling. Chris started 3D modeling at the age of 13 with Autodesk’s Gmax, a freeware render and export incapable version of 3ds Max. He eventually moved on to 3ds Max when his needs exceeded the capabilities of Gmax. Throughout high school he worked on multiple mods for the source engine.

Christopher Pien has experience doing the following:

  • Model and unwrap both high-poly and game-ready meshes
  • Sculpt high-poly meshes
  • Texture models for both PBR and conventional rendering
  • Manage projects
  • Animate in 2D and 3D
  • Rig characters

Chris aims to create models that are as real to life as physically possible in terms of lighting, structure, and texture. Doing so requires a large suite of software. He is highly proficient with the following programs:

3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush, Substace Painter 2, Handplane 3d, xNormal, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects

In addition he has extensive programming knowlege and experience with:

C, C++, C#, Java, Python, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, JQuery, Bootstrap, PHP, and SQL
